What a day! We had our final work day for March this past Saturday with over 30 volunteers, including folks from Mission Driven Research, Summit Crossing Community Church, and Rivertree Church. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and this team along with our framers got a lot done inside and out.
We were able to complete all the interior framing, lay subfloor in all but one room, remove an old shed, and clear about an acre of brush and dead trees along the main entranceway. It was great to see so many people working together for a common goal, and everyone from the oldest to the youngest seemed to be having a great time. The day was a huge blessing and a great encouragement to us, to say the least!
With plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough-ins beginning, the inn is really beginning to take shape. As we turn the house over to contractors for a bit, I (Steven) will be turning my attention back to fundraising and partnerships. Despite the craziness of 2020, we were still blessed with enough resources to get us well into the renovation and to allow me to come onboard full-time. Now we need to raise the additional funds to complete the renovation and bring Cheryl on full-time.
