December Update

As 2020 comes to an end, we hope you and your family are finding ways to celebrate Christmas in the midst of a challenging year. We pray that you will experience the peace of Christ this season and the joy of his salvation. Before we ring in a new year, we wanted to update you on what’s been going on at the inn.

“Christmas At the Inn” is in full swing, and we’ve had a good response so far with our great room and one of four guest rooms completely furnished! This giving opportunity is helping us furnish the inn as we prepare to open the doors next year.  As you pray about year-end giving, we ask that you would consider Shepherd’s Inn. Take a look at our “Christmas At the Inn” options or consider giving to our General Fund, which will go towards completing renovations. Every gift, large or small, will help us offer this life-giving ministry to the ministers and missionaries we all love.

We also had a great turnout for our outdoor work day on December 5th.  It was a beautiful day and wonderful to have people with us. We were able to clear a lot of brush and some dead trees off the front of the property. It made a huge difference! We are so thankful for those who came out to help make this sacred space into a place of beauty and rest!

Finally, we are shoring up our bids with contractors for the inn renovations. We passed our septic inspection, which was the last step in getting our building permit. Now we can hit the ground running after Christmas and begin seeing some real progress on the the inn. We will have some work days after the holidays that involve interior framing, so if you’re skilled in that area, we would love to have you join us. We’ll post those opportunities soon.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for Shepherd’s Inn.  We’ve got a lot of work left ahead of us, but we are trusting in God’s provision to bring this ministry to fruition.  We have weekly inquiries about when we’re going to be open and affirmation of the need for this ministry.

Join us in praying for those who lead the church and the local and global mission fields. They too are feeling the weight of caring for and ministering to others during what has been a very trying year for all of us. We believe the ministry of Shepherd’s Inn will be even more needed as we enter into this next year.

We are grateful for the many ways you extend care to us and the ministry of Shepherd’s Inn! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
