As Christmas approaches, we are winding down and looking forward to some rest and time with family. We’ve had a full year at the Inn and are so close to opening the doors next year.
Earlier this month, we rang in the season with "Christmas At the Inn," an evening of Christmas music and worship. We hosted a small group of friends at the Inn who’ve been a part of the ministry and streamed the event live, so everyone could join us. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the birth of Christ, and it gave us an opportunity to share our progress this year, including a preview of one of our guest rooms!
We are on the cusp of opening the main floor of the Inn. Our plan is to open the main floor first, which includes two guest rooms, the great room, main dining room, private dining room, and kitchen. We will open the downstairs in late spring/early summer, and it will include two more guest rooms, a library, and a massage therapy room.
In order to open the main floor, we need to raise approximately $22,500 which would be our immediate goal, and an additional $22,700 to complete the downstairs. Those total amounts break down as follows:

Over the last month the Lord has blessed us with resources to complete our final electrical install ($8,500) and $1,000 of our total $3,500 in tile/supplies. Amazing! He has provided for each next step, and we’re trusting Him for this final push to complete the main floor of the Inn. When we reach this goal, we believe it will take about 1-2 months to complete the work, meaning we could open as soon as February of 2023!
We continue to talk to those in ministry who are desperately in need of rest, renewal, and care, and we are looking forward to welcoming and caring for these ministers and missionaries at Shepherd’s Inn next year.
