As we round the corner on 2019, we want to say “thank you” for all the encouragement and generosity extended to us this year. We are heading into 2020 full steam ahead as we begin renovations on the inn and prepare to open the doors later next year. Our fundraising is steadily moving along, and we anticipate starting the renovation in January.
We’re also excited to announce that CJ Whiteaker will be joining our staff in January. CJ has been a part of Shepherd’s Inn since the beginning as a member of our board and has played a big part in the development of the vision for the inn. In addition to his role on our leadership team, he will begin offering individual, marriage, and family counseling through SI in Huntsville, AL, as well as developing our soul care retreat curriculum. Momentum is building as we’ve been able to share the vision of Shepherd’s Inn and the need for minister and missionary care with so many this year. As always, you can help Shepherd’s Inn provide rest, renewal, and care to Christian leaders through prayer, promotion, and provision.
Pray
We are wanting to create the ideal place to carry out the vision of Shepherd’s Inn. As we finalize our plans and begin renovation, pray that we will steward our resources well and build exactly what is needed. Pray for honest, hard-working, and competent contractors as we bid out the work to be done. Pray continually for our families as we take these next steps; that we will continually seek the Lord’s guidance; and for God’s protection from the enemy who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. Also, pray continually for the ministers and missionaries that we will serve in the near future.
Promote
The word is getting out, and we want to continue to raise a greater awareness of the need for minister and missionary care. Tell your pastor, church personnel team, or missions team about Shepherd’s Inn. We want to partner with the local church to help see those in ministry serving from a place of rest and good spiritual health. Also, introduce us to like-minded believers with a heart for ministers and missionaries. We’d love to connect with them and share the vision of Shepherd’s Inn. An easy way to do that is to share this blog via social media or email.
Provide
Our fundraising is off to a great start, but we still need your help to bring this life-giving ministry to the ministers and missionaries we all love.
